Valentine’s Day is coming! It feels like we JUST said goodbye to the overindulgence of Christmas, and now we get to be tempted by the sweets of Valentine’s Day. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again: life happens. You can’t stop the holidays from happening, so you just have to learn how to keep things in balance and always have a plan.
Now that we have our sweet Cole in our lives, I really look forward to the holidays. His excitement is contagious! My hubby and I have never really gone out for Valentine’s Day, and to be honest, we tend to just skip over it without much thought. This year, however, Cole is going to be in NY with my mother-in-law which means we will be living it up on Valentine’s Day! We have reservations at a nice restaurant and I seriously can’t wait. It might just be a silly holiday, but it’s a chance for Matt and I to reconnect and enjoy some time to ourselves.
Back to having a healthier Valentine’s Day. You can always focus on crafts instead of food, but for times when food is necessary, there are so many ways to make it healthier. Just cutting the food into the shape of a heart can make it fun and festive. You can also use fruits that are red and pink. Here are a few cute, healthy snack options that I’ve rounded up from around the internets… just for you!
Heart Shaped Cucumbers
Chocolate Filled Raspberries
Yogurt and Fruit Parfait
Pink Fruit Smoothie
Heart Shaped Cheese Plate
Sometimes when you find photos on Pinterest it becomes difficult to trace it back to the original source. None of these are my original photos, but if you know where they came from, let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.
HAVE A HEALTHY, HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
