If you’ve been following along with my story for the past year or so, you know I am a completely different person than I was a year ago. I am stronger both mentally and physically, I am confident, I have a more positive outlook, I am a goal-setter, and I understand that without risk there is no reward. And I tell you all of this to show you that change is possible. Did I ever in a million years think I would be a health and fitness coach? Uhhh.. NO! Never part of my plan. Did I ever in a million years think I could have lost all of the weight that I lost? NOPE. So how did I completely turn my life around in a year? Let me let you in on my little secret:
I started picking up some books. I’ve always enjoyed reading, but I never read a book that improved my life in any way. I was hooked on Fiction: things like Nicholas Sparks, Twilight, The Hunger Games, etc. Reading fiction books isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but now I’d rather spend my time on books that are going to make a difference in my life. My daily schedule is pretty full with being a mom, getting my workout in, planning and prepping healthy meals, working on my business, spending time with my husband, and taking care of our home, but I make it a priority to learn every single day. 10 minutes is all it takes.

If you aren’t learning and growing, you aren’t moving your life forward. Don’t just go through the motions. Don’t get caught up in the routines and allow your life to slip by without much thought. If you really can’t find time to sit down and read a book, use audio books! Forgo the music and listen to audio books or podcasts on your way to work or school. Press play on a book while you are doing the dishes or making dinner. Listen to a podcast while you are grocery shopping. There really is no reason why you can’t fit it into your life- you just need to make it a priority.
