Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids

No, you aren’t lost.  Yes, you are still on my health and fitness page!

My focus here is always on how to live a healthier life, but today I wanted to switch gears a little bit and share some of my favorite Thanksgiving crafts for kids!  I know that a lot of you here are moms, and part of living a healthy, joyful life is creating special memories with your little ones.  Sometimes we just need to take a break from the meal plans and the workouts and have some family time.

After you make these I want you to come back and tell me which ones you made!  Even better- tag me in a photo of your completed crafts on Facebook!

If you have older kids, you can have them write a sentence or two about what they are thankful for.  If you have younger kiddos, you can ask them a view leading questions and write their answers on the turkey feathers for them.  These are the questions I asked Cole:

  • What do you like to watch?
  • Where do you like to go for lunch?
  • What is your friend’s name?
  • What do you like to play with?
  • What do you like to eat?

I had been saving our wine corks for a few months because I knew I wanted to do this craft with Cole, but you can also purchase corks at any craft store.  I drew the tree on for him because he was only 2.5 years old at the time, but then I let him go to town with the corks and the paint.  I put a piece of paper over the bottom half of the tree to avoid getting paint all over the canvas.  If you aren’t as OCD as I am, feel free to let them put “leaves” wherever they want. Ha!  We did this on a small, 8×10 canvas.

Easy Turkey Craft

I’m planning on doing this turkey craft at a preschooler play date at our house this week.  It’s so simple, quick, and adorable!  I’ll have all of the pieces pre-cut and they can just work on gluing them on.  For step-by-step instructions, click HERE.
