Healthy Halloween Treats

If you have kids, I am sure you have been reminded of Halloween for the last 17 weeks. I made the mistake of telling my three year old that Halloween was in the Fall (when he asked in June).  He spent the next 3 months asking “It Fall Yet?”  Now that it IS Fall, he can’t quite understand why it isn’t Halloween, and he continues to ask me every. single. day.  FAIL.

Now, you should know that I am all about living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  I like to indulge every now and then, and what better time than Halloween?  Having said that, I think it’s totally possible to enjoy holidays without eating yourself into a sugar coma (or allowing your kids to do the same).  I try to help Cole make healthy choices leading up to Halloween Day, and then I allow him to enjoy himself and indulge in the candy that he collects.  I strongly believe that these behaviors are helping him to create a healthy mindset when it comes to food.  He knows that we have to eat things that “are good for our bellies” and things that “help us grow tall,” and he also understands that we enjoy treats occasionally.  Balance.

Through my search for new ideas, I found a ton of adorable healthy Halloween treats, and I’ve put them all together in one place so that you can stop wasting hours on Pinterest (you know you do!).
